Hashim Naqui has been registered as an architect in the United States since 1986 and is currently registered in several States in the United States and is a member NCARB (since 1986). He also maintains registration with the Council of Architects, India since 1978 and is a Fellow of the Indian Institute of Architects.  He has helped in the design and construction of projects across the World, after he graduated as a valedictorian from Osmania University, Hyderabad, India in 1978.  Initially he worked on projects in india, before moving abroad to Dammam, Saudi Arabia in 1979 and moved again to the United States in 1982.  He got his Master’s degree in Architecture from Kansas State in 1988.  He has worked on projects for the US Army Corp of Engineers in Kansas, before working on projects in Texas, Washington Metro area and North Carolina. He worked on the Robotics Research building for the University of Texas, high rise office buildings, apartment complexes and institutional buildings in and around Dallas, Texas before moving to the Washington Metro area in 1986 where he was involved in working on several large mercantile projects including shopping centers, large grocery stores, medical facilities, office buildings, schools and parking garages.  In 1994 he moved to North Carolina and has worked on a large range of projects including RDU International Airport, Terminal 2, several laboratories, bio-tech research facilities, pharmaceutical buildings, schools, community centers and office buildings.  He started his own firm in 1998 and since then has been collaborating with larger firms such O’Brien/Atkins as well as SfL+a in the Raleigh area to provide production work done from India.

He also independently did projects in India and the Middle-East, including working on the longest building in Doha (BARWA Development) with German architects and contractors, and a large apartment complex called Garden Housing under the Agha Khan Foundation, India.   He has worked on large hospital projects in India and did the design for a project in Bangladesh with Massachusetts Institute of Technology General Hospital, Boston.  

He is currently associated with SfL+a based in Raleigh & Fayetteville and assists in doing state of the art school projects in North Carolina, as well as various residential developments and other facilities with a team of architects based in Hyderabad, India since 2022.  Hashim is a citizen of the United States and is an “Overseas Citizen of India”.
